What is the Pelvic Pulse Pro EMS Chair?

The Pelvic Pulse Pro is a device that uses radial pulse technology to stimulate the pelvic floor muscles. It provides appropriate energy transfer to the patient, allowing for optimal protection and comfort during use.

Additionally, electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) devices, such as the Pelvic Pulse Pro, use neuromuscular electrical stimulation to strengthen weak pelvic muscles, helping to improve control and continence.

These devices allow users to control the level of intensity and frequency of the stimulation to ensure comfort and effectiveness.

How does it work?

It is a pelvic floor stimulation device that works by delivering electrical impulses to the pelvic floor muscles. These impulses cause the muscles to contract and relax, mimicking the natural process of muscle contraction during exercise. This highly focused electromagnetic wave, promotes deep pelvic exercises equivalent to thousands of Kegel exercises within the 30 minute session.

The device typically uses a pulsed, "bi-directional and biphasic" current, which means that the charged particles move in one direction, drop to zero, and then change direction, reducing the chance of skin and tissue irritation. The intensity of the electrical stimulation can be controlled, and it should be set to a level that is comfortable for the user, strong enough to induce muscle contraction without causing discomfort.

For example, lower electrical waveforms can stimulate slow-twitch nerve fibers responsible for endurance, while higher waveforms target fast-twitch fibers for quick, strong contractions. This method is used to improve the strength of very weak or deconditioned pelvic floor muscles, help locate and isolate these muscles for better control, and address various conditions such as bladder over-activity, incontinence, urinary urgency, and pelvic pain.

The benefits of using a pelvic floor stimulation device include non-invasive strengthening of the pelvic floor muscles, reduction of incontinence and urinary urgency symptoms, relief from pelvic pain, and potentially increased intimate sensitivity by encouraging blood flow. This technology is supported by scientific evidence and clinical studies, making it a viable option for individuals looking to improve pelvic floor health.

How long is treatment & how often is therapy needed?

Typically 6 sessions are recommended to obtain the best results. It is also a good starting point for those more complicated conditions, that also may need additional visits.

A single session will take up to 30 minutes. There are 6 sessions in total with a duration of 2 sessions per week for 3 weeks. However, a duration of 1 session per week for 6 weeks, may be beneficial as well.

Pelvic floor benefits may be apparent just after the first session and continued improvement may be noticeable for the next few weeks. No downtime. You can continue your daily activities right after each treatment.

Maintenance may be used to continue the strength of the pelvic floor. This means that additional sessions may be needed to maintain the strength of the pelvic floor. However, this is dependent upon the condition and each person may need different regimens to maintain the strength of their pelvic floor.

How much does this therapy cost?

The typical cost of the recommended six treatment sessions is $2,200 to $2,400. However, our regular cost is $1,500 for six treatment sessions. The treatment is not typically covered by insurance.
